Description:
The successful candidate will oversee and be responsible for North China operations, including meeting financial objectives. S/he will oversee a staff 10-15 technical (HVAC engineers, architects) and administrative staff. The GM is also the North Region’s chief salesperson, identifying and meeting with prospective clients, submitting proposals, and negotiating contracts.
Requirements:
MBA and technical degree in mechanical or civil engineering, architecture or a related field. Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) with excellent English written and oral skills. At least 10 years work experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management position in professional/environmental consulting company, with major responsibility and proven track record in marketing and sales. Knowledge of the North China real estate sector, including personal relationships with large real estate developers, is desirable.
Main tasks are given below:
Operations:
· With president, set monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets; and oversee financial reporting to EMSI US. · Work closely with the Office Manager and HR, as needed, to ensure that all HR functions are being met, including recruitment for new positions, employment contracts, employee annual reviews, salary adjustments/raises, and professional training programs. · Oversee office’s administrative functions.
Consulting Services:
· Oversee work of technical staff and consultants on client projects to ensure that all deliverables are of high quality, submitted on schedule, and meet any other contractual obligations. · Work with Senior Project Managers to develop and implement systems and new approaches to increase productivity/efficiency to ensure that projects are completed within budget. · Meet periodically with clients and their project teams as necessary to solicit feedback about EMSI’s services, and implement measures as needed to ensure client satisfaction.
Business Development/PR
· Develop and implement marketing and sales plan to achieve target number of projects.
· Identify potential clients, make presentations, develop and/or oversee proposals and scopes of work, and work with China as needed to negotiate contracts. · Represent the Company at conferences and workshops, preparing and delivering presentations as needed. · Work with TV, newspapers, etc. to get media exposure; write articles, case studies, etc. as needed.
